I've just changed to Nankang NS2s. They dont seem to bad so far. Only had them 2 weeks tho.

nankangs aren't too bad to be fair... not too clever in the wet when pushed though... most people have their own preference, but i like Parada spec II's, give all around performance and are cheap in 195/50/15's too,

usual suspects,

Toyo proxes - not a fan of but lots of people like them,
R888's - take out a mortgage to buy them haha

more budget brands:
Kumho,
Falcon.. etc...

just shop around and see what prices are, i tend to get the best all around tyre for the money which for me is parada spec II's.

I posted the following on another forum, my opinion on tyre choice...

...On the clios i have tried the following:
- Avon Zv3 7mm Tread (Mk1 valver)
- Yokohama A539 5mm (Williams and 172)
- Toyo Proxes 2mm (Mk1 valver)
- Bridgestone RE720's 4mm (Williams)
- Mich PE2's Brand New - 6mm (172 and Williams)

- Goodyear NCT's 4mm (BMW E30)
- Good year Eagle F1's Brand new (BMW E30)

The Goodyear Eagles were great on my E30 Although they did wear fast!!!
NCT's were a little too hard lost grip in wet.

On the Clio's the PE2's are the Best BY FAR - Wet and Dry..
Yoko A539 - very good, but loose heat and the performnace dropped drastically
Toyo's good - only had them on for 2 weeks...werent the best in the wet (although they were running low on tread)
Bridgestones are very good, but not as good as the PE2's

All I can tell you is what I have tested - and I would have no hesitation i using PE2's again.
I was so adament they werent worth the extra £5-£10 compared to other tyres (and almost bought some Parada Spec 2's due to their clear financial benefit, but wen I used the PE2's I realised what all the fuss is about.

Personally, for road tyres I would definitely use PE2's on the clio's.

PS: I also did an Air Field day in the PE2's, granted the track was wet on half of my runs, but no signs of graining at all.

just about to order some new tyres myself. I see that F1 GSD3's are back out (think they stopped doing them?), anyway 195quid for 4 of them mobile fitted inc vat at your home/work at event-tyres, never tried this company but going to give them a go, they seem the cheapest for mobile fitting anyway. works out cheaper than buying them mail order and then going to get them fitted, plus you don't need to muck about waiting around, seems all good to me :)

I always run GS-D3s, they always come out top in the independant tests, so that suits me!

I'd like to try PS2's though, simply cause the offer similar performance but are a bit harder wearign (shame they cost so much more, making it almost pointless :p)

PlayStation 2's?

I think Mich. PE2's only worked out £3 a corner more expensive that F1's when I bought mine.

f1's are about 40quid a corner, pe2's being about 50quid a corner.

From memory their standard charge is £5 a wheel fitted and £5 for balancing per wheel.
Although I was charged £60, for fitting the tyres, balancing all of them, new valves, and tracking.

+1 LMAO
Next time round I'll probably get 185 55 15's too I think...drove my williams on some briefly and it did make for a much comfortable drive..

Daz, Why didnt you buy 185 55 15 PE2's??
Surely Michelin Tyres would be most akin to the Williams, just want to know what the choice behind the Vredstein was?

I paid £170 Delivered for 4 x Mich PE2's in 195 50 15 82v from Blackcircles.

I use the same on my Willy wheels, and the price is 178pond for 4pcs in Hungary

for the 16size alloys I use the Pirelli PZero Nero 195/45/R16
I do no know is it exists in the UK but the best choice, and R16 is the minimum size

Oszy
