anyone else been made redundant before?

found out today that i am being made redundant as of next friday, thats when my notice period starts, been there over 4.5 year and then this happens! nice of them!

havent decided what im going to do regarding work as i dont want to do the same job no-more tbh!

ive had consultations this week as we was told some staff was going but not sure who untill today!

im going in tuesday morn to start all the rubbish n that!

one months notice starting next friday mate, from what i know i will get 4 weeks wage(capped at £330) for the 4 year, proberly nothing for the 7/8month ontop!

aswell as usual pay and hols!

I got made redundant but had only been there 6 months so I got **** all - I had the consultancy then 3 weeks of waiting before I was told one random day I was out along with 136 others...

Rudest thing was being escorted to collect my tools and belongings and shown off the premises - was embarassing for all of us and totally unnecessary as far as I'm concerned.

Pisser mate!!! Sure that once you are on notice the company are obliged to give you time off if you get any interviews in work time sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah si, it says in the pack im allowed time off for interviews and must take all holiday days i have left in the notice period!

daz there 3 of us going this time, already had 4/5 others gone in last 4month

make sure you check your terms and conditions mate,

For me when i was made redundant last year 1 weeks pay = 1 year. You should be able to claim for holidays remaining aswell.

and get 4weeks worth of wage tax free etc, same as you said 1week=1year

Get yourself down the job centre so you can get your stamp paid while you're out of work (whatever that is, my gran always says it though lol) then get looking for a job!

Shitter though, I've been through it :(

sheffield city council, at a sports centre that is closing at the end of july and being demolished.

theyve been great though, even trying to re deploy all the staff who want redeployment.

yeah my work have been trying to find me another place within pendragon but theres 2000 jobs gone with redundancy so nothing that i want lol they have allowed me to have all my notice period and this week off to sort out a job which i may have soon, got a few options!
