i know a few of you have helped me out on moving the car into a lock-up previously, but i was thinking, can you insure a car whilst its in a lock-up? it won't be going anywhere on the roads for at least a year or so, as i'm going to attempt some major work, any ideas? has anyone done this before? thanks again in advance :P :D

You can get off-road insurance - it's just Fire and Theft as you don't need the Third Party bit.

Think I paid about a ton for the year when the RS was sitting in the garage.

Seems a lot. I get fully comp for driving on the road up to 6000 miles for that! Okay, maybe I have a good record and age on my side, but you are leaving it in a garage, not driving it, so it should cost you beans regardless of your situation (except where the garage is - is it a lockup somewhere or a garage attached to your property)?

well most companies won't insure you because I'm under 25, and the lock up is about a mile from my house, but to be honest I thought it was a little expensive, but I can live with paying that :D

as with all in insurance its cheap if you need it...

but expensive if you never claim... :D
