Hi!

When I was browsing through Wikipedia I was very dissapointed, because there was so little info on Clio Williams and F7R engine. Not to mention Clio MAXI, there's no info on it whatsoever. So a while ago I created this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F7R

I guess it's not perfect so you feel free to modify it. I'd be nice if someone would write an article about Clio MAXI and it's technical specs (MAXIBOY  ).

Cheers

Robi

It's all linked now. Also added a photo. I'd appreciate it if anyone would have a photo of Clio Maxi which he'd taken himself. Copyright and stuff...

Does anyone have any detailed info on Renaultsport Spider?

"The F7R engine is used in Renault Clio Williams, Megane Coupe and Renault Sport Spider. "

It was also used in the espace too ;)

You don't want to associate the Espace with the Williams, Megane Coupe and Spider, do you? :-#

they share the same blood line ;)

I think the new ones also have a F4R engine in them too :S

Well I think F4R is also in Senic RX4 but it's not a Clio Sport engine. Also I'm convinced that like F7R it has different variations, but ones mentioned here in this wiki were 700, 710 and 714. I don't know how F4R engines are marked but I'm sure that the numbers on Clio Sport and Senic RX4 are not the same (even the power isn't 138hp-172hp). When I created this wiki I thought it was unnecessary to include exact engine model number.

Im pretty sure the espace didnt come with an F7R and it was an 8v 2.0.

Allan

well the fact that they come up on ebay and you can see them in the pics kinda proves they have f7r's in them...

who in there right mind would convert one lol
Anyways i have seen several now

so shh scummy :D

lol, the only reason why people put "espace" etc in the title is to improve chances of a hit on that ebay item... they never came with the f7r series of engines.

Allan

no they put esapce in there heading because they are selling an espace

I made a Clio Maxi wiki, because there's serious lack of info on this cars. This is very rough article and I will add more info when I'll have more time.

Any suggestions?

Anyone has his "own" photo of works Clio Maxi (copyright and stuff)?

I also added a picture of Clio Maxi, not the best one TBH. But it's mine and Wiki can't delete it! :D

It would be also nice to have an unmodified engine picture in F7R wiki.

Obviously it has to be a very clean engine (talkingfish or anyone with mintest and still original engine bay?).

Can you please post pics here...

And can you please give me permission to use your photo (it will be credited as my own work to satisfy Wikipedia), but I can credit you (or car's plaque number) in the description.

Clio Maxi never had a 7-speed gearbox

"only" a 6 speed

robi1000

Good spot, I rechecked and realised that Clio Maxi originally did not come with 7-speed gearbox, but it's not true that it was "never" fitted with one. 7 speed gearbox first appeared in Megane Maxi in 96' with H pattern selection and then with fully sequential (up ad down lever movement) in 97' and it was obviously retrofitted to some Clio Maxi cars.

robi1000

But I could be wrong!

But Megane Maxi booklet is stating the gear ratios for 7 gears.

And if I can see correctly there's 95' printed next to one set of gear ratios and 96' on the other one (H selection). Then there's 96' and 97' on sequential gear selection model.

Do you know anything more about that (I don't have personal experiance with Maxi cars)?

Clio doens't have a 7 speed gearbox homologated on his file, i can guarante you.

Megane have one, yes, sequential i know for sure, H pattern i don't know

You're right. I probably mixed up some facts because I mostly see these cars on hillclimbs, and there almost anything goes.

Also in Italy (close to me), nobody really cares what homologation papers say, so a lot of italian Clio Gr.A are actually more developed then Clio Maxi (even running ITBs, which they shouldn't).

I will correct this on wiki (if nobody did it already)!

Thanks for the input! If you have any other info, please share!

Suspension geometry...

Anything specific about engine...

Problem is because I know quite a bit about those cars too, so it's kind of hard to ask anything general really...
