hi am after pics or diagrams of the williams or megane alternator brakets, send me a pic of your alternator attatched or un attatched anything will be greatly appreciated to check i have the righ one fitted.

It seems this links in with my alternator belt thread previously posted, need to slightly move the alternator to accomodate the tthrottle bodie sausage filter and have done this but now the belt is loose so not sure whats going on, I may have a strange bracket fitted by angleworks knowing my luck.!!!

Here are some pics i took last night.

Problem i have is the filter backing plate fouling the top of alternator, the alternator needs to come up a bit more to put tension on the belt but it cant due to the space available.

Is the belt on the right way in the picture?

Do i have the correct bracket and alternator?

Any sudgestions on squeezing more space in?

Cheers

If theres enough "casing" material on the filter, just trim the backing plate. If it risks a causing a gap, the either re-position the alt, or buy a new backing plate and make it fit to suit your engine.

if i trim the backing plate and then put the sausage filter on then there will be a gap where i have trimmed it so air can get up there without using filter

what size belt you using?

I've read that i need to buy a 6PK810 (810mm length) belt for my conversion (using 1.7 volvo brackets)

apparently im using a volvo set up so ive been told, i am going to go for a smaller belt which im going to get this week. This way I hopefully wont have to raise the alternator anymore to to tighten it up.
