after a new bike, £700 odd max spend

looking at specialized rockhopper disc series, '08 models

any advice, experience with these or similarly specced bikes?

will be used primarily for off road track use to get me fitter! :lol:

good lad! have a look in je james in rotherham mate and try a few out. i got my last bike from there (kona kikapu). you'll be able to come up scotland with me and bayliss on the bikes in the summer then!

i've had a poke round je at the end of bramall lane, going to see the rockhopper on monday night, think i got my heart set on it :D

does it have to be a new bike? get a second hand orange patriot. or if your not to bothered about rear suspension, go for a specialized p3 8) awesome bikes, i had one, then sold it and i miss it so much now, plus kona make some good bikes. 8)

oh and i specifically dont want rear suspension, not keen on it and i'll never ride well or hard enough to real the true benefit of it

Look on ebay mate, some bargains about. Been looking into getting a Specialized Allez road racer and they are half the price on there

kind off off the original topic but if your coming up to scotland for biking, give dumfries a shot, loads of good bike tracks up the ae forest, dalbeattie and mabie, plus its not far over the border...

Currently working for decathlon, (just to bring the pennies in while i look for a better job :P) and there range of bikes isnt too bad.

I know its not got a fancy name but they are genuinely nice bikes.

Oh and remember, most places wont cover a warenty for any type of proper riding (downhill, freeride, XC, DJing etc)
