View Full Version : my rolling road results-well chuffed! 205mi16
As some of you may know, i bought a 205mi16 off a mate, took it to skip brown today for a cambelt and tensioners and a rolling road tune, the result was 188bhp, i'm happy with that
Sorry forgot to mention....................
ATW

dont know really? above 200bhp per tonne, its stripped out in the back, not got round to the front yet, and i have a couple of bucket seats waiting to go in!
and this was with a " restrictive exhaust, with a big crack in it " got home from skip brown and the exhaust fell on the floor outside my house, so it must be a good 190bhp atw with a decent system.
turbo'd or t/b's with cams etc? good result either way lol
what would this equate to at the fly? for pub talk
depends what the transmission loss on a pug is tbh, but going off coops turbo making 190odd at wheels about 220bhp-230bhp atf
what would this equate to at the fly? for pub talk
i take it its far from standard?poss 220bhp@the fly
turbo'd or t/b's with cams etc? good result either way lol
twin 45's, longman head, cams & verniers, think thats it, not really sure, like you say good result either way, especially as it cost me a grand
lol cant argue at that then!
what i thought, not to mention the spare engine he threw in, and 2 sets of spare wheels, probably bring it down to 700 notes when there sold
its running a 1.6 gearbox also, so 5th gear acceleration is like being in 3rd  ( well not far off )

Bargain. Miss my old Mi16 in a way. It will be well over 200bhp/tonne if it is that kind of power ATW - they don't weigh much and that's before you do any stripping!
is it a 205?there 930kg std.
so 188bhp/930kg x by 1000=202.150 bhp per ton!

Generally the bhp/tonne is done with ATF power, rather than ATW, so his car is coming out even better than that!

alright then 220 ish/930 x 1000=236.55
sounds a right bargain!as richy said, mine made 190.3 at the wheels last RR i had,was corrected to just over 228 at the fly.

160PS -> 1.9
155PS ?? -: 2.0
Well impressed with the bhp per tone figure 8) , more strippage is on the cards, should get it down to around 800kg ish, this is a 1.9 16v mi16 alloy block, i think there either 160 or 167bhp as standard, hopefully going to york on the 5th may to get some 1/4 mile times in, provided i have a new exhaust on by then.
Seems like a cheap way to go fast these - Hmmmm

Standard they are 160bhp (the later 2 litre ones in the GTI6 were 167). Here's the 1.9 in my old race car:

I'll be going in the cup m8...not racing it but I'll be going up to watch the 0-60 day which I think is then. Let me know if you are defo going. We usually meet at about 7.30 at Darwen services so you are more than welcome to tag around fella
