No it's not - you can't even park the car on a road if it is SORNed! You can tow it on a trailer, of course, but I assume you mean on a tow rope?

Sorry, but you are not giving him the correct info. You can't leave it on the road. You can't drive it on the road. The wording of the law is that it cannot be 'used' on the road. You cannot legally tow it with a rope if it is SORNed.

If it was me I'd probably risk driving it the two miles, but that doesn't change the fact that the question asked was is it illegal, and it is, I'm afraid.

You'll probably get hit harder for that than having none lol

Your not as noticable with a tax disc in the windscreen than without one with mr plod going the other way.

I'm abide by the law and am a good person - I don't steal, murder or rape and yet I'd get seriously told off for doing the above.

Madness isn't it

if the car had no mot id be inclined to book it in for mot and drive it to your lock up and cancel the mot, cant tax a car without mot so it is therefore legal to drive a car to or from an mot station
I drove for quite some time without tax casually, and never got stopped trick is to blend in

Not sure if you have moved your motor yet mate but I would advise you to take all your documentation ie insurance MOT V5 with you, and in the unlikely event of getting pulled you could explain you were on your way to the post office to tax it.
