Bought a hillpower scuttle kit from rob72 on here :D spent this weekend fitting it, drilling the hole etc. Its an awesome bit of kit and sounds like nothing ive heard before, induction noise in the cabin is mental so probably not for everyone but i love it , well sort off . im gonna chnage the filter at the end for a k&n as i prefer the sound over a foam filter ( not so deep imo ) but apart from that alls well.

Apparently a water box from a nova fits fine, possibly even no need to re-route. Seen a couple on here with the nova water bottle. Think Maxi has one on his (nova bottle)

Looks great

Love the widetrack on yours, totally transforms the look of the car.

You any experience of a piperx induction kit?

I havent got round to measuring up whether one will fit in the scuttle? Theyre pretty big..

A Pipercross will just fit in the scuttle space (I can take pics to help give an idea if you are thinking of fitting one there?) but it looks like the pipe would then need to bend quite sharply coming out of it in that position. Also the lower part of the filter would lie against the bottom of the scuttle, thus blocking any air coming in that way - I think one of the foam filters where the ends are 'open' would work better (the Pipercross has a solid 'top' on mine)

im going halfords tomorrow to order another filter ( cotton insted of foam ) to give people an idea of the size of filter you can fit , the ram measures base 150mm, length 160mm, top 100mm, 70mm flage so its pretty big plus there is space for more if you need.....

Yes please mate.

I have a piperx with solid top but you think its a very tight squeeze?

I just love the grumble of a piperx so am reluctant to change it

looks good mate but it cant get as much air there as a normal induction kit

rubbish, mines there and flows more than enough for a 250bhp turboed lump

plus the quality of the air is better, less oil fumes, heat, dust etc etc

this is something im thinking of doing whts the kit cost and is it easy to do?
is it hit and miss with cutting the hole or what?

wheres the washer bottle gone then?? have you moved the coolant bottle across as well????

speed

the washer bottle has been replaced with that blue bag, the pipe fits without moving the coolent system

When I considered this I was going to move the bottle to the other side where the jack lives/lived - pretty straight forward if you wanted to retain the original item

jay s

northy: the engine stays pretty still since ive fitted the powerflex dog bone  so the kit doesnt move that much , any movement would be absorbed by the silicon hoses i would of thought.... ill get a vid up tho.

bruce_rob: its very similar in design to a group A system so good enough for me

bendee: Hillpower sell the kit for £200/£180 excl vat, have a look on his website. you could probably souce the parts yourself for a little cheaper...

Daz: doubt it would fit on that side mate as ecu is there...

damn no edit button

bendee: making the hole is pretty straight forward, i fitted half of the kit and you can kinda judge/see where you need to cut the hole. i then drew round 1 of the pipes so i hade something to work with then got busy with the drill. then filed down sharp edges and put some primer on to stop rust, then cover with some type of hose cut in half.

Looks good mate. I've just purchased a tb adaptor with 70mm flange, so thinking of making one myself. What type of filters can I get with a 70mm flange?

jay s

I tried to fit scuttle induction on my LHD Williams but there is no space. Is there a way to do this on LHD Clio?
