View Full Version : Std Williams exhaust
So i have just bought my old williams back after 3 or so years apart. Turns out the magnex is much louder than i remember!
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd like to get rid of the drone on the motorway but still want a slightly sporty exhaust note.
I am going to refit the cat, If i get a std center section how difficult is it to match it to the magnex backbox?
How does the complete std system sound?
Cheers

a standard complete system inc cat is quiet.....Im sure that the exhaust is louder now....maybe just replace the mid section to start with ?
Do you know if the std center section will fit the magnex back box?
Cheers

Just drive faster - it gets quieter at about 95 ;)

anything can be made to fit each other. can u get to a custom exhaust place ?
Yes, but custom normally means big bucks! I've ordered a center section so i'll see how i get on.
Cheers
how much was the centre section
From Renault £57 trade with clamps and gaskets. The walker backbox is £67

Or as I found out when buying one today:
Walker backbox £105
Renault backbox £117 (exc clamp)
Ordered the Renault one as I'm not spending practically the same amount on an OEM item as a genuine one.
Hate to piss you off mate, but the magnex on the standard centre section is crap. Infact i wouldnt waste your time trying to fit the standard centre section.
Its very loud and has a shit constant drone. Rattles on the rear axle too. And thats with the cat on!!
So im going for a standard system with a decat. Should give a little bit of noise 8)
Im running a custom center and scorpion back box, the standard scorp was a rubbish fit, so i had a custom center with big sliencer made up, sounds really nice no drone.
Not as quiet as the standard (which you cant hear anything) but its still not a drone and at 70 /80 its virtualy silent.
I changed to that from a mongoose which at anythign over 20 mph made the whole car vibrate with the noise, and poeple couldn't sit in the back too long.
