Am I talking shite?

What is the point in paying over £2k for a valver that's got big repair jobs due, when you can buy an older one for less that's already had the work done?

No ya not mate. Ive posted on there too. I payed £2100 for mine 2 years ago but it had done 100k. At the time they were goin for 3k so i thought id save myself £900 and get the high miler. Glad i did cuz iv had no probs until recently in 2 years. Altough mine was mint. The guy was a dentist and had it from new. He paid 13k for it  He had a massive house and 3 cars so i know it was looked after like.

I've replied too.

Anyone who believes there valver is worth 3k is dreaming. I don't think you'll get much better than my old 16v and I only saw £2300 for that.

Thing is though I had my valver up for £2800 to start with and from CS I had people telling me I was asking over the top. Then you read this and there all seeking the more expensive valvers. :?

The Kirmanators example only went for £2k I believe and the NW boys will vouch that not only was it absolutely spotless, but also fecking quick.

The askin price for valvers was 3k 2 years ago when i was lookin for one. Car prices have gone crazy since then. You can get a mk1 172 for £5500

My house mate just bought a saab turbo with 250,000 miles on it. Paid £300 for it, and i was expecting a real shed, but its in very good nick. Only 2 owners, one of whom had it until 230,000 miles and it has a full saab service history.

Not a patch of rust on it. Engine is bloody fast too. For £300 i dont see you could expect anything more. Second hand car prices are dropping fast.
