Recently ive been repairing the sill on the Williams, this is how ive been getting on.

Cut out the crap:

Weld in the good:

Then it was welding the outer sill, getting the right contour was tricky...

Today i painted on the stone chip guard, managed to get the Renault effect which is what i was aiming for.

A smooth sill would end up looking ****ed in only a few months from all the stones - like your progress!

Looks good- looks like you went a bit too high up the sill with the stone guard or is that so it can be smoothed over at the top afterwards? would never have the balls to attempt something like that

I would say it's been masked up just below the polythene.

Mat.

Yeah its been masked along the original line. Didnt really have much choice, had to attempt it as it was a MOT failure.

Plus im too tight to pay a bodyshop to do it

And i know its been done properly now 8)

nice one....so did u repair the inner sill in one section or the inner sill to jacking support, then the inner trim panel from inside then the outer sill spot welded through to the rear ???

Yeah went to the jacking support mate. That was still solid and wasnt rusty at all. Then as you say spot welded on the outer skin but then we ran a continous weld down the sill.

Its now been waxoiled and treated inside, off to the bodyshop on wednesday, then MOT following wednesday then off to silverstone on saturday morning 8)
