could be a massive debate here but i think no. not on the limit handling but for road use increase comfort but at increased cost and maybe poorer handling on the limit.

depends what u want....195 50's do liven up the williams but 185 55 is the correct size....bit softer on the corners and more expenive.

Right my personal views...

I'd wager many people have only ever driven a willy on the cheaper 195's so they're views will be limited by the one option they've tried - I'd also wager that many peoples front setups are way past their best, sloppy shocks, column yada yada.

All I'll say is the more I replace with what should be there the better (and quicker) the car gets, standard height improved grip and allowed me to drive the car better, 185's have improved that further still and I totally disagree - I think a willy is far more fun on 185's.

Lean is not a bad thing at all, I like the way the car sets itself up into a corner.

I think the firmness of 195's hide a little other issues with worn parts, sloppy steering that you notice straight away with 185's - I've noticed it and am trying to do something about it.

Watch Zollos movie when he was flinging his around infront of that 106 - that to me inspiration to put mine back to 100% standard - looked like fun to me! :D

It really depends on where the car is driven. On perfectly smooth tarmac where ride compliance is not an issue then firm lowering springs and 195s work. If you plan on blatting around on bumpy backroads then stock suspension with 185s is the way forward. My car spends most of it's time on the latter so I have put it back on standard suspension and will be refitting 185s when I finish off the current tyres (probably August time). Having driven them on 3 different sizes of tyres 185s are my choice for an outright road car.

just kidding, like everyone said, it's a cost thing, and i had 185's when i got the car, then i bought 195's but i don't standard suspension. it is a lot harder on my arse, but they are good for the price 8)
