Hi,

1 - They are obviously for discs, you will have drums on the rear so these wont apply

2 - For the pads for the front, just get oe ones from renault

3 - You usually just know when the discs are worn/warped through feel although you can use a specific tool for measuring them, dont know what its called, someone will be able to give you a bit more tech info on knowing when worn.

Shudder under heavy braking would be a good sign i think or pulling to one side etc

so you saying that the fronts have disc brakes but the rears dont have disc brakes they have drums if so why is that?

The lower/smaller engine models all use drums on the back, I think mainly the sportier models have rear discs because it looks better, doesnt really make much difference on breaking.

oh right i see. do the drums wear out aswell?

Yes but its a lot of work so don't bother.

For the front brakes stop mucking about with the standard calipers as they an inherantly bad design...get some secondhand 16v stuff in there and you'll get WAY better performance than any aftermarket stuff.

i only want to change the front brake discs and front + rear brake pads.

any particular make i should be after for the pads and discs?

Just get standard from halfords etc...for the extra money involved you're not going to notice the difference over 'aftermarket' stuff.

hmm thanks mate for the reply. if i was to change the disc brakes or the pads would it be simple a job i.e. take them off and replace them with the new ones?
