What spec is the bottom end of your engine please?

I cant remember exactly, but I remember its running forged pistons ,but what make are they and also what rods etc are you running? I take it, its also all lightened and balanced?

Thanks

Are they standard size or oversize pistons?

Can I ask where you sourced the bits from and what sort of price or is it a trade secret?

The pistons are oversize not much tho (82,9mm) with cost 500 quid and the rods cost about 1200...

Holy shit. Pistons arent bad price, but the rods???

Also, are they slipper pistons?

Yeah but remeber in Greece they dont piss away all their wages on petrol, food, rent and council tax. They are actually allowed to spend their money on what they want.

I want to move to Greece. Good food, hot weather, chilled atmosphere and heavily modded motors! 8)

If anyone comes to Greece for summer,we can meet for a ride
We don't have taxes like you.Im paying about 300-350 quid for a year to insure it but i don't think that that life is cheap here especially for Greek people (this is a cause of their very low wages). But for you, that you are gettin about 1000+ quid for a month you can have a nice time here

Dimkais - where abouts in Greece are you? Im going over to Zante on the 28h of June but not too sure, how long it takes to get from Zante to Greece!!!

Thats expensive for just pistons and rods!!!

Is there nothing that can be done with the standard pistons and rods?

14.0 as in the banana and 1 in front lol

If you want to play with high comp. ratio then yes you need forged pistons.Rods only if you want to rev high or turbo conversion. My pistons arent so expensive. My rods ARE expensive cause are made in ENGLAND  So to get them here needs a lot of money
I live in a village close to Athens.

They make good trophies for a start :D

All shiny

I kind of fancy some forged pistons though.

Whats the highest rpm the standard pistons will take?

BenR
15-06-2005, 23:40
I wouldnt push them past 7800.

However, for the engine to make power up that high you are sacrificing alot of torque and bhp due to poor burn efficiency. And it takes quite a lairy level of engine to make power in that region.

Whats safe if your engine is crank is balanced?

BenR
15-06-2005, 23:55
Crank limit is beyond that of the rods/pistons as when its is not suffering imbalance loads, the pistons and rods suffer the highest loads.
