I'm not one for saying my car is quicker than yours etc, i like to think ive grown out of that..

But

My mate keeps banging on about his honda del sol siR

Stock 16v Versus Stock Del Sol siR in a sprint, result?

He's had a few of them and claims they are absolutely unbelievably, deathly, frighteningly quick

They aint my cuppa tea, ultimate hairdresser car IMO

if its got the electric rof, you'll pan it, if not then close, they are same engine as jordan etc i think, 1.6 vtec 170bhp. but one with electric roof weighs in at like 1300kg, rattlier than a clio n all

Mates got a Tuned vti civic, he was going on about how he's raped williams's in it etc, he got nailed by my old red Clio which was cammed and chipped etc

He was most displeasured, Vtec sucks!

I've owned both, at the same time aswell.

I raced the two, my underpowered valver with 17" shitty wheels on kept neck and neck with my MINT condition sol running 170bhp.

They have no torque and as coops said, if its the electronic roof model, will be around 1200-1300kgs. Heavy for basically a civic.

My hybrid would ****ing rape my mates fully rebuilt b16a del sol, and wouldnt expect a civic to be any better.

Race him, knock him down a peg or two.

Good do lads!

Yeah, he chatters on about them so much.

Yes its the vtec one im sure, 170bhp. 1998 import.

He also goes on about how good it sounds

IMO vtecs sound shit, theyre just a monotone deafening noise, not like f7p's/f7r's!!!

A good vtec-engine driver has to be really keen for a fight (ie: keeping the engine on boil all the time) to race almost anything. But when they do get it right, they can really cover ground very fast. The clio is more forgiving in that respect. IMHO, if you mate has a heavy lead foot with good driving skill set, it would be a decent run for your clio.
