Cant remember what everyone said to use?

Are there any disadvantages to doing this?

Any technique to doing it or just get it in the gaps?

Most DIY stores won't sell polyurathane sealant.

Silicone is by far the most common, we also do stuff like gutter sealant, designed to get very wet alot of the time, and frameseal mastic, nothing like you want, maybe get mark to send you a tube?

Lunners right. Normal household mastics and sealer wont bond properly or go hard enough.

If its around £2-3 a tube its definitely the wrong stuff. I cant remember exactly what it costs us, but I think its around £6-7 per tube. Not cheap, but you can literally hold cars together with it

Any decent bodyshop will always have stacks of the stuff in stock. I know we do.
