Which one?

The crankshaft one?

I usually use an impact gun, the haynes says wedge a screwdriver in the flywheel to hold it still.

I'd use same method you used to get it off, oh and plenty of threadlock on the bolt

I mean the adjustable cambelt pulley.

The crankshaft pulley bolt is on fine, as is the aux pulley on top of it. Its all on fine but need to be tightened with the adjustable cambelt pulley, which is damn hard as the belt keeps pushing it back.

I could tighten it a bit and then gently hammer it with a piece of wood in between or something?

If you mean the tensioner pulley under the exhaust cam, there is a little hole at the back of the head that you can screw a bolt into to keep the tension on the belt while you tighten it up.

What mat said apart from its a threaded hole on the block which an M6 bolt screws into, tension the belt with this, and then tighten nut

Failing that, you can use a flathead screwdriver behind the back of the tensioner to set the tension the belt, not all the heads had that screw hole in my experience

I gave this a go today, after most of the rain had cleared.

Tried the small screwdriver, didn't work, so had to find a M6 bolt.

I thought that one of the thermostat housing bolts looked like M6, so tried that, and it worked a treat!

Cranked the crank pulley manually a load after refilling engine with new oil, all was fine!

Anotehr fine job ticked off the list.
