I personally would have changed the headgasket as a matter of course while the engine was out.

Are you sure its not just from moisture build up because its been sitting? (im not the seller  )
did u drain the sump before you started the motor? could have been water in the oil etc,
(im not the seller either)
Dave
did you hold your face right when you started it up

i said that to my dad before i fitted the engine but he said if its ok just leave it as he is a qualified mechanic thought that it would be ok :? as for the moisture ill leave it running on my dinner break tomoz and keep cleaning the cap etc and see if it clears up :D
Takes longer than that. Drive it for a couple of days then you'll know for sure.
I'm not the seller
...Or am I?
Actually, no I'm not
...But I could be
...Even though I'm not

had a similar issue on my rather expensive BMW engine replacement, but as suggested it was simply moisture that had got into the engine during its removal from its donor vehicle and the time it took to get to mine etc...
give it a thorough service and flush then try, will hardly cost anything to do that and you can see whats going on,

who was the seller... as it wasnt me!
when i first posted i forgot to add that the temp (oil and water) went through the roof oil was sat just above 100 and the water couldnt get any higher if it tried so i changed the thermostat over from the old engine and evrything went back to normal as for the milky substance its startin to fade away gradually so it was probably just moisture   but however the gear box is making a wierd noise ive recorded it on my phone but cant get on to the computer so u can listen and tell me what u thin it is
