I recently put a new engine in my car with my mate who works for renault. All went fine but the car just doesn't want to idle at all now. It will start and run slightly lumpy then settle out a run fine for about a minute then die on me? Its starts first time right away no probs then does same again!! I moved the tps when i was cleaning the throttle body but i got a new one of Andy. Its running better then it as before i've replaced the fuel filter and lambda with a fresh tank of fuel just to be sure. Anyone any ideas what this is??

Cheers Al

Ive found all of mine will run with the tps disconnected so try that, check for air leaks as there notorious for leaks, also the iacv might need a clean

Used the same loom and was really careful making sure everything went back in the same place. Cleaned the iscv briefly. Can't remember off the top of my head if the iscv is meant to be directional when fitting? Was looking at some of the other problems on here and was wondering if it could be the cts possibly?

You'll find disconnecting most sensors the car will still start, ive had at seperate times the cts disconnected and the tps lambda etc and the car will still at the least start, when the cts plays up it'll usually still run, cutting out maybe iacv or timing issue
Check the map sensor pipework too

The map sensor is the one up by the firewall on the drivers side up by the suspension turret isn't it?

The pipes going to it at the inlet manifold were blocked up at 1 stage could it hav damaged the map sensor

unplugging the TPS defaults it to 50% throttle.

Dissconnecting the CTS defaults to 89 degrees.

Dissconjnecting the air inlet temp sender defaults to a ridiculous 50 degree inlet temp!

unplug the cts and see if its better.

tried disconnecting cts still does the same wouldn't even start with map sensor off. Tried taking the iscv off and the revs just went through the roof. spotted a yellow wire not connected to anything beside the iscv??

yeah it has 3 wires but this is just a random 1 by itself with a double pin connector on it??
