Halfords can't get it???

Go to a larger store then cos they can mix it up for you for £7.99 for a 500ml tin which is enough to do most jobs. I had to get a can made up to paint my spoilet in 671 Blue as it wasn't on shelf either.

The only thing I will say is be sure to do a test before applying it to yoru car as my 671 turned out slightly darker than the rest of the car though its not noticable until I point it out to folks.

no it doesnt need to be high temp, i hadnt actually thought of asking them to make it up for me

its not a big deal if its not a perfect match as its for the cam cover and a couple of other bits in the bay.

cheers guys

i thought it would have to be high temp as a clio engine bay does get hot. do correct me if im wrong tho. im looking to do the same thing but
have you thought about getting bits powder coated, will be more durable and saves the hassle of cleaning the little nooks and crannies. im getting a whole selection of bits done.

dont think its too bad a price?

i thought normal paint was good upto around 80 degrees which should be good enough for me as its all covers and caps.

havent really thought about powdercoating but it could be something to look into i spose i have no idea what sort of prices id be looking at though!?!

Nagh it doesn't need to be VHT stuff for the covers though powder coating will always give far superior results.

If you're not a total geeky purist then the colour coded covers should look amazing so post back some pics with the results.

coops is the man to speak with, he had a few bits done so may be able to help with regards to price, but just do a search or check his project thread 8)

gotta be in the running for the best engine looks on here imo.

its just getting the colours right without goin ott. the polished look, looks pretty good too.

its gonna be all black mate, with 449 touches like the sticker, the cam cover and a few other bits.

if it looks as good in real life as it does in my head it should be schweeet.

That's because they don't mix it up correctly but you're not the first person to have said that. I always check the contents before they seal and pressurise the tin anyway as you can usually guage if it's a close match Vs totally wrong that way.

They'll only supply a touch up kit won't they? That's all I got in 671 anyhow.

So do i but you can't tell until its on the car and lacquer has been applied. You could go to renault and get a tin off paint and get halfords to add thiners and can it up for £6/7
