Complete ..yes...ive just removed it from the b.e.

how many miles has it done ,whats the condition ?
whats the reason for sale mate ?

Was told from a member on here who i bought it from, it to be from an 80k willy 3. but again, no proof of this.

Bought the engine at the end of last year, it turned out to te siezed, have removed the head, and its the b.e. that is siezed, the head is fine.

The reason for sale...i was obviously intending to put the engine in my clio, but have lost all interest now. My clio will be for sale soon enough, so its no use to me, i shall be returning to Ford :D

I may be wrong fella but the particular port you are showing a pic of does not look worked on, or barely at all.

It's hard to tell, i dont think the area that is pictured needs to be worked on much, but people usually knife edge the wall between the valve throats first, and that hasnt been done!

Better pics are required if you wanna sell it mate

Maybe thats the case, im no expert, only going on what ive been told when i bought it.
i'll get some better photo's at the weekend.

if its complete with all internals, springs, valves, cams etc... then its not far off what a standard one costs so for me, any potential head working would be a bonus....

good luck

Thanks for that chap. 8)

I have an identical thread on clio16valver, and from the looks of this, and that thread. it may well not be ported.
I dont know enough about it to say if it is, or isn't. I can only go on what the person i bought it from said.

So..offers on a williams head...(that could be ported..but may well not be)

Please note i havent cleaned it up at all, thats how it came from the b.e., so is rather grubby

How can be sure its is Williams or a Valver?
By the size of the valve?

sheps
19-02-2008, 18:58
Yes, the inlet valves...which ive measured. Williams 8)

stan
19-02-2008, 19:46
its 100% williams head, you can tell by the shape of the inlets...its just std thats all.

Wobba

The inlet valves are slightly larger yes?

sheps
19-02-2008, 22:49
Indeed, i measured the diameter to be 32mm, where as the exhuasts are 28mm.

Do these fit a valver head or would i need to change stuff over?

ClioDan87

The valves wont fit into the valver head from the williams one as valver vales are only 30mm!

And obviously visa versa! :)

Dan

the valve-seat could be changed in a valver head as well, so can fit bigger valve too

Someone must want a williams head? :tapping:

Wobba

The problem as I see it for me is that it looks like it needs to be given a good old going over in terms of cleaning the valves, and I am always worried with heads I know nothing about as they could need skimming etc and thats just more stuff to do and adding to the overall cost of getting it into shape.

I am only running a valver engine at the moment, head is off and my valves need cleaning up, and probable skim too. I am looking at performance enhancement options, but after buyig it and having it worked on it will be at least £350.

I guess bigger valves would see a torque increase for me?

sheps
21-02-2008, 18:17
Yes, it is very grubby, thats how it came from the engine, ive not touched it at all.
Cleaning cant be too hard...not with a bit of elbow grease
As for bigger valves giving more torque? i haven't a clue...you would have to ask some-one who knows about theses things :D

stan
21-02-2008, 18:23
just so you know, williams inlet valves are 100 for a set of 4. So if you wanted to fit them, or have a snapped cambelt, thats £200 in JUST inlet valves.

puts it in comparison....
