I am looking for a 6 or 7 speed gearbox for a mk1 clio.
Ideally, needs to have a cruiser (petrol economic) top gear.
and 'slightly' shorter lower gear ratios than the JC5.
All ideas and possiblities considered - but they do need to be feasible.

COSTY!! :D
Maybe
the maxi ran a seven speed hewland gearbox at one time..
Sadev sequential box with LSD is the only real option I can think of... iirc they are £7k+, not sure if that includes VAT either...
Make a custom bellhousing for a VAG 225 box. allot cheaper.
different ratio's for the petrol's and TDI's

apparently bbtuning have had a bell housing made so they can run a cossie box for their williams turbo engine'd kit car??????
anyone know if theres any truth in what i just said^^^?
ummmmmmmm doubt it
a T5 cossi box goes the wrong way
not for a kit car..
ive been told bb have made an adaptor to fit the 6speed from a 197..
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i need to read stuff first.. lol
Why would you put a williams turbo in a kit car  when there are so many better engines that are allready rwd...

I doubt it would even fit in a Mk2 bay let alone a Mk1 bay... they aint the smallest of boxes
someone did some measurements and thier almost identical, and if thier making an adaptor surely it must be do-able.
stan was looking at one the other day and said they seem similar in size...
would be worth doing i think if one has a limited slip diff as standard

Yup it would be awesome if you could get one of the new boxes to fit, especially for those of you running turbos etc.
8) LSD as standard, sweet.
Any idea on recon/new from reno for one of those boxes then?
