I am looking for a 6 or 7 speed gearbox for a mk1 clio.

Ideally, needs to have a cruiser (petrol economic) top gear.
and 'slightly' shorter lower gear ratios than the JC5.

All ideas and possiblities considered - but they do need to be feasible.

Sadev sequential box with LSD is the only real option I can think of... iirc they are £7k+, not sure if that includes VAT either...

Make a custom bellhousing for a VAG 225 box. allot cheaper.

different ratio's for the petrol's and TDI's

I doubt it would even fit in a Mk2 bay let alone a Mk1 bay... they aint the smallest of boxes

someone did some measurements and thier almost identical, and if thier making an adaptor surely it must be do-able.

stan was looking at one the other day and said they seem similar in size...

would be worth doing i think if one has a limited slip diff as standard

Yup it would be awesome if you could get one of the new boxes to fit, especially for those of you running turbos etc.

8) LSD as standard, sweet.

Any idea on recon/new from reno for one of those boxes then?
