earth problem

Hi! I believe I have earth problem because my rev counter shows 500RPM when the engine is off. And my indicators don't work. I can hear relay clicking but indicators are not flashing. I checked and sanded both gearbox earths, battery earth and the one in the scuttle. Are there any other earths apart from the alternator one?

Oh and when I push the buttons for my windows or turn my ventilation up rev counter drops for around 500-1000RPM.

I take it you've done the obvious and checked all earth connections, disconnected them, brushed the contacts, then reconnected them?

If thst fails to sort the problem, try attaching new earths....like from the headlight earth to the body.

easy test put a jump lead from - side of battery then connect to a body earth point if it works then you have a loose/missing/dirty lead
