check the connectors defo work. hook up fan directly to the battery to check that works. failing that check the relay....

Check the connector's on the right way round - somehow I reversed it and it didn't kick in until I put it the right way round lol

It was working, but the car has just sat for ages and ages, thats why i changed the fan motor, it was seized. so changed that hoping that was the problem and no go. i checked the fuse and still nothing.

bit annoying really
hi mate the fan is controlled by a switch on the side of the radiator that switches the fan on..
the wires too this are a common fault. if there not already disconnected then disconnect them and touch them together the fan should work.
if not the fans at fault.
if there disconnected this might be the fault.
if they are connected but when you disconnect them and touch them together the fan works the switch is at fault

As its a new radiator would there be a new switch with it?
might be its the big switch on the drivers side of the rad..

well there was something that i had to plug some cables into so i assume that is it
well try the cables touch together and see if the fan comes on

all sorted, loose cable was the problem, just drove it for first time in about 8 months, can't wait for the new engine to go in
Thanks for your help
Had same prob turned out it was the fuse located in the fuse box next to the washer bottle.
