Just about to order some bits from GSF and have a few queries;

They don't seem to list a 16v specific oil filter, only the following one - is that correct? :?

R12009A - £ 3.15 - OIL FILTER CLIO EXCEPT 1.2 DIET

Also they don't seem to list a 16v thermostat either - is there one from a lesser model that'll do the job?

Cheers.

You might want to check the size of the oil filter by eye before purchasing it. I had a right nightmare trying to get the larger one I was sold through a gap into the bay. I had to take the inner arch off and push the engine out of the way to get it through. I'm sticking with the smaller OE ones from now on!

Well no worries there as it'll be fitted with the engine out.

Is there various sizes then?

I'm ideally wanting one thats got a nut molded onto the top to help when changing them. I have one of these on atm...don't know if this filter is OE though... :?

Doesn't sound like OE. Not seen any like that but having a nut on the top sounds like a good idea though :D Whilst you are right that you can fit the larger size filter easily whilst the engine is out you'll be changing it in another 6k so you might want to be able to get it out of there again sometime!

you can push it up between the subframe ad block at the front, i did that with mine was easier then getting it through the silly small gap!

I think the willy filter is 'shorter' than the valver one so is easier to manouevre :)

From Renault they might be the same size but in motorfactors such as Halfords there are two different filters listed for the F7P and F7R, Think the F7P one was the smaller one and the F7R a lot bigger.

they are the same filter, they are a 7700 274 177 which is the smaller of the filters most commonly used, the other is the slightly larger 8200 033 408 which is used on other Renault models

just buy an OE one

the one with the nut is REALLY old, not been made for years and years, was made by Champion, not OE
