what is there to leak oil around the back right corner of the lump, stat housing side at the back.

basically i used 1/3 of distance between dipstick oil level markings on 200 mile round trip to hill power and back, there is fresh oil leaking off the very bottom of the gearbox into the box drip tray.

followed it back as best i could but due to all pipework its difficult, what i can see is that theres oil starting somewhere under the stat housing, where the metal solid coolant pipes come round the side of the block. the oil then runs along these solid pipes till it drips off where they join flexi coolant pipes. it drips onto boost pipe from turbo to cooler, flows across towards battery tray a bit then at lowest point drops onto top of box, round and down

its not coming from cam seals, core plugs or anything obvious like that as far as i can see. i dont think its rocker but i will change the gasket anyway on principle.

my question is, are there any oil pathways in the head/block around that area, the big return from the head is at the front of the block isnt it?bit wheres the pressure feed to the head?

cheers

coops this leak might be causing your clutch to slip as it may be contaminated with oil?

Just checked back on my pics and the oil pathways look to be deep inside the head

thinks core plugs either under or underneath the engine lifting eye on stat side of the head. will check it after next run and see
