Nice car. Good plan re: fitting the 15"s - much as I think those 17"s you've got are nice alloys they don't really look right on that valver - looks more like a 4x4

the main reason was to regain what ever the 17"s lost in acceleration/handleing

IMO theyr nice wheels...just to big for the car.....

sorta expected someone to bring that up

i dunno...i advertised it the other night when the car was letting me down....its currently sat outside my house with imobillor troubles and its getting me down

like i say iv only had the car two weeks.....dont get me wrong...i love it....but iv got alot on my plate between changeing jobs/moving house/the ex haveing a baby at the end of the month blah blah that i couldnt be arsed with the hasstle of a car costing me money when i aint got any

you guys seemed to have helped me solve the problem so im not so keen to sell.....haveing said that if the right offer came i might not say no

im terrible for keeping cars.....im 20 and this is car number 17/18....and thats not including spares cars etc

At that price im suprised it aint gone by now, or the phone been ringing a few times mate. I spotted it and thought low mileage with no rust and a good price, good buy for someone :D

Regarding the immobiliser problem, i had the same thing happen, leaky f**king sunroof dreanched the infrared pickit sensor next to the sunroof.

I fortunately had a mk1 ecu (bought it to chip) which i fitted and overcame the immobiliser problem but the central locking didnt work cause the sensor near the sunroof was waterlogged.

I therfore removed it and placed it on the radiator to dry for a while, refitted it and everything is working fine now.

Stick with it mate. It will all come true in the end!! :D

aye shes a clean example....iv seen my mate pay more for non moted ones with holes in the sills etc

my mates had a three now (which is what got me into them)....this being the later of the three....his first one had the smae problems and it sounds to me like quite a common problem

if its a simple case of a phase 1 ecu then i dont see me selling it....the car doesnt need much mechanically and the body work is pretty sound for a 12 year old car

tbh the cars had no intrest on piston heads....unlike when i advertised my old civic and the phone was ringing constanlty!

a couple of pics of my mates old ones whilst im at it

man spend £30 at the most on a phase one ecu and solve your problems

name me one occasion where some one has put ph1 ecu in there car with immobiliser woes and it hasnt fixed it.

yeah he's going to lose his immobiliser but its not like the car is worth 10k anymore.......

I never questioned the immob method did I?

I question that car but would happily let someone prove me wrong.

That makes no sense, my post was solely about the immobiliser reiterating what people have already said. :?

Think the point Daz is trying to make is if it was simply just an imobiliser problem why doesn't he swap the ECU and sell it for alot more or drive it, the fact he won't do a simple fix points to the fact that there is something else, alot more major wrong with the car, and this imob problem is being used as a guise

:agree:

If the car is as 'described originally' with '66k' on the clock, as per advert  then the right buyer would easily pay 2k, maybe more for that.

The replacement ecu would cure that prob he has, as I can testify.

WTF?

did i ask for anyones opion on the ecu?

like i said...come try it.....

i have NO FAITH left in french motors....im buying yet another civic as they have NEVER let me down

i dont personally think my motors worth £2k running...if that was the case i wouldnt have got it for £1k in the first place......
