The shroud helps draw air onto the radiator? No?

Looking at the car head on, on the right side of the radiator, the shroud cover is smaller. Would it matter if i cut a 3 inch diameter hole in this section of shroud?

Would it effect cooling?

Also how do you get the bottom of the shroud off the radiator?

It helps keep air from bypassing the rad yes.

Cutting a hole wont do any harm.

Getting it off with the rad in situ is a real ripfest.

not really no, it helps, but not much, especially if you guys are running the low temp thermo's etc.

Mine runs cool as a motherfvcker without one. The bodyshop forgot to fit it when the front end was repaired.

With a new rad and low temp stat/switch it's fine. At 130 yesterday the oil temp was about 120 and the coolant on the first 1/3 mark.

I be wary of removing it - the amount of shite that gets through onto the alternator/wiring is a lot. I live in the NE of Scotland and due to the masses of rain etc we get, i had frequent problems with the fan switch and also went through 3 alternators in 2 years...granted some of that could just be conincidence but still...
