Am I right in saying the voer to the upper cover has 5 torx bolts holding it on?

Just I am having bad problems removing it, and I think there is one last bolt in a hard-to-get place behind 2 fuel pipes next to one of the alternator pulleys.

That upper metal cover has 4 bolts iirc. Two in the middle and one on each side. One is behind fuel pipes in the same location as the one close to intake manifold. Middle section has 2 bolts and lower 2 or 3. It's been a while since I last did it but I know I was swearin like *****. Don't give up! Have fun (and wear gloves :) )

Cheers,

Robi

I've got a few lying around not attached to an engine at the moment. If you are still stuck then give me a shout and I can get some pics of it so you can see where all the bolt holes are!

That's the ticket, cheers lads!

Summeh: I haven't rounded the bolts off but I did manage to shear the head off one of my Torx keys, one of the middle bolts was on really tight!

I am a bit pissed off really, I really wanted to get the head off today, but not enough time :( Now I can't get it tested or skimmed till next week! I am close now...

I'd love too, but I simply have nowhere to work on the engine. I did consider just replacing the whole thing but, again, space is a problem.

I've learnt loads already dismantling the car, and it gives me the chance to clean individual bits as I take them out too!

Andy - I got some headbolts, but I may be interested in some others as I put the car back together. Lot's of extra jobs to do after this!

Are there any for the rocker cover to make it look a bit more spruce? I may send it off to get polished or something!

I was going to do the watre pump, but have since decided it's unlikely to have been that that caused my overheating (and having had the rad out now I can see the whole system was badly sludged up!).

Have you got any pictures as I will be doing the rocker cover very soon...I may have it painted or something as well...so would consider bolts for that, and also the top belt cover...are they the torx ones you have or the round allen key ones?

All but the waterpump and sump are screwcap types.
