nope its a volvo engine N7Q engine code.
Completely different engine to f7r and is aluminium block.
They will fit in a clio and i'm in the process of sticking one in a renault 5 on bodies.
No one seems to bother with them as the f7r is much easier to play with and parts are more readily available.
The N7Q motor does have a lot of potential and tuning parts are available from many swedish tuning companies. Also the N7Q engine being aluminium is a much lighter engine than the cast iron blocked f7r.
Hope this helps.

the cast iron is much stronger than the aluminium block also
the crank from the N7Q have 90mm stroke and was use on the Clio Maxi

cast block is stronger but the ally block is much lighter and braced correctly should handle good power.
Wasnt aware of the crank being same as the f7r as the engines are completely different.
As for the pics of the engine going into the 5, you will have to wait as it is currently on its side in my workshop as a bare shell.
looking a bit like this only on its side now!

I know its a clio forum but i do own two clios too!
And the 5 was the clios predecessor so it is related!
