I'll shortly have a set of these bad boys on my 17poooooooooooooooooooooooo, so look forward to reviewing them against my old Jenvey kit I recently sold.

The creators AT Power believe the power output will be 10-15% more than the Jenvey DCOE set. On a Zetec or Duratec (cant remember, I did speak to the chap that made them though) they had done back to back runs of each, same engine, same day, same dyno and the DTH ones were making the 10-15% on average! :)

If this applies to the Clio too (no reason why not as both engines are very similar in design), then I'll be looking at having the same power as before, but with the need for cams.

And the best bit... £835+VAT for the full kit as opposed to £1147+VAT and ancillarys (yet more £££) and no inlet manifold match.

does this give more room in front of them? i.e. so one doesn't have to drop the rad maybe?

got any pics?

*possibly dumb questions* lol

Why do they give more power? Just shorter airways to the chambers, therefore less restrictions?

Won't increasing power that much on standard internals be a risk??

would they not fir a megane head?

They dont have a spindle for the throttle plate.

Plus they have probably developed a better taper and plate position.

white16valver - yes, they give more power and should be absolutely fine on a stock engine. My Jenveys were fine on a stock 172 engine and it's done 45k+ with bodies and no bottom end or top end mods.

AndyFielder - they are only for the Megane head, I'm not sure if there are plans for ones to fit the Williams one, but tbh I cant see there being, not much point with the ports the way they are.

sounds good to me.

what management would they be using?

J o n
22-01-2008, 10:34
can use any stand alone capable of running them, but for safety reasons I'd personally only use an Omex or Motec as these are the only 2 E-marked ECU's on the market. There's due to be a crackdown on cars without them, as technically it's illegal not to have one, but people can look into that themselves as a lot of people wont really care and go with a cheaper option anyway.

As they are the above is just the price for the complete ITB kit without management, same as you'd get from Jenvey basically... only far cheaper, better looking and better output.

bit annoying you have to wait 5 weeks for the parts to be made up!

Will go for KMS as its a good price and the car is going to be used on road very little.

where you getting the prices from buddy?

J o n
22-01-2008, 13:57
not sure on assembly time tbh, I dont think they are 5 weeks, if so I'd imagine that's only at the moment and wont remain the case lol

prices I'm getting direct from the horses mouth fella. All F series engines are £835+VAT

AndyFielder

ok, who do i contact if i want to buy a set?

J o n
22-01-2008, 15:03
Andy at GDI, they are the authorised distributor of them as AT Power dont/wont sell them direct.

Worth asking about group buy discount if they can/will do it, but I'm unsure as iirc the price is under what they should retail at anyway...

AndyFielder
22-01-2008, 15:16
anyone up for a group buy?!

This looks superb but it will be a while before I can get some cash together for it..how much would you reckon all in Jon?

Cheers

worth saving for mate, I've been to see where they are made and spoken to the creators and they are extremely confident in them... but then they are a massive success on the Zetec and Duratecs.

Not sure how much it would be all in, just over £3k at a guess with the bodies, cable conversion, omex, loom, sensors, install and labour charges. Worth adding cams to the cost imo, I think I'd have seen a genuine 240bhp with the cams I had in (428's) and these bad boys.

I'll be testing the first set, so you can come have a go of them when I get them fella.

what power are you going for?

my F4R has just been rebuilt, so should hopefully be alright with something like this in the future! :D
