Hey guys, If you don't want this thread up then don't hesitate taking it down, just thought I'd post a couple pics up.

She's a 1988 Volvo 340 originally started out as a 1.7 8V but now she sports a 1.8 16v F7P using Yamaha R1 carbs, airbox and fuel pump. I use the car for drifting and the cars also my daily driver/ongoing project :)

Soon to be coming will be a hydro handbrake, 4 point harnesses, mk2 Golf wheel arches 360GLT front, rear splitters and boot spoiler and also a set of refurbed 13x7" Minilites. Hope you like :)

fresh summat different that i like it! dont get minilites tho, there played out in my opinion, theres a lot nicer selection of dished rims on offer have a look on some vw forums for ideas.
like it tho summat different! was it an easy engine swap? and how come you didnt opt for the t5 lump?

There the only pics I have of the bay atm, I know the minilites are overdone but I just can't help but love em lol! I didn't do the engine conversion myself the company MnM engineering done it before I bought the car although it seems easy enough to do, need to use the volvo 1.7 sump and bellhousing and engine mount and the engine drops straight in! mates up to the original volvo clutch and everything! If I were to have a go at doing the conversion myself which I probs will in the future i'll most likely do another carb setup as I don't like the idea of splicing looms n stuff so i'll do away with the ECU lol!

hahaha legend!!!! me and a mate of mine were thinking about doing this, but there apparently is a huge amount of hassle involved in the ecu. so it kinda put me off. well done though and one hell of a wicked idea! there was a feature on two of these in an old PPC a while back, you should try and check it out.
volvo300mania is awesome too!

anyway excellent job! 8)

Thanks guys! Yer it's so much fun! Especially when your crusing along and it sounds quite beasty with the bike can on lmao! Some of the looks you get from people probably thinking "WTF is that OAP car making that sound for!? " haha!

I speak to the one chap on MSN who was featured in PPC The blue one, Adam his name is, very helpful friendly bloke!

Apparently yer it is a pain splicing the two looms together to run injection, which is why i'm happy mines running on the carbs so theres no need to worry about that! But it's been done by a few people now numerous times so if anybody does wanna do it running injection and wants help then let me know and i'll point you in a few directions :)

I'm running a welded diff which can be quite funny day to day driving, it's especially funny at petrol stations with smooth surfaces if your turning on them and the inside wheels starts skipping and slipping and squeels dead loud, sounds like your doing a burnout lmfao! Again some of the looks you get is funny! I absolutely love the car, really really do, even if it does have f*cked tappets atm  lol! If anybody has the opportunity of a back garden project with not a great amount of money I couldn't suggest doing this enough! Excellent bit of cheap fun! I'll get a vid up whenever I get some, might have one or 2 lieing about from my first or 2nd drift practice lol!
