I'll try and keep it short,
New lump F7R 700 into 16v shell (chassis C57D L reg ph1)
looms are different, not tried starting yet but pretty obvious it isnt going to work.
Old loom isnt an option, its dead. If it comes to it i will get a new one but I want to try to bodge it first.
Does anybody have, or know where i can get (diologys etc) the pin diagrams for both these looms and the chassis loom for the vehicle?
cheers, bailey

Ive just been through this ordeal, the best thing you can do is yo find yourself another phase 1 loom. (Not ph1.5 or ph2 loom).
I really wouldnt bother trying to reqire a phase 2 loom, its a minefield and easy to cockup.
Before you buy another ph1 loom, make sure the pin layour on the brown and white plugs are identical wire/pin layout to your old loom or chassis loom plugs.

L reg is normally ph1.5 but obv could be a late registered ph1.

AFAIK it is a ph1.5 but dont know for sure.
MAtt do you have any looms in matt and how much are they?
also, if anybody does have a pin layout or know where i can get them from i would be so greatfull, im quite a handy electrician and cant see it being a hard job as long as i knw where everything is.

I've defo got a phase 1 loom here as it's just been taken off an engine going into a williams.
Would have to look for a ph1.5.

Ok look under the relay cover by the battery.
There is a big brown plug and a white plug. Unconnect them and look at the plug, they have co-ordinates on them for the wires...
Ph1 loom has 3 yellow wires in brown plug (A1, C7, D6)
Ph1.5 loom has 2 yellow wires in brown plug (A1, D6), but is missing the C7 wire.
Ph2 has 2 yellow wires in brown plug (A1, D6), but is missing the C7 wire.
but also has 4 purple wires into white socket.

The one with 2 purple wires is a willy loom.

Dunno TBH, never tried it in a phase 1, it works fine in a phase 2.

hmm, AFAIK the white plug in the ph1 has all the pump wiring whereas the willy plug only has the 2 purple ones (and they dont match up)
If i had a wrecked willy loom i recon i ould quite easily trace all the connections to the plugs and splice the old cabin plugs on to the new loom but no-one seems to know the connections or where i can find them

I think we should invest some time in identifying the differenr looms and then if you can modify them to make them work? i.e a PH1 to Ph 1.5 etc as I would have thought all looms control the same functions!!

I could do it quite easily if i had some looms to trace.
If anyone has a battered willy loom (with the 2 purple wires on the white plug) thats going in the bin let me know and i will give you a few penies for it.

i jus got my williams 3 wiring loom to work in my Jreg ph1 hybrid.
all i did was sawp the wires on the brown and the white blocks (by taking the pins out of the block) around on the williams 3 loom so it mathched my old ph1 loom.only problem was on the williams3 loom had 2 different colour wires in the brown block which i left there.
after all that i turned the key, i heard my fuel pump prime and it fired up.i have not driven it yet as im getting some work done,so hopefully should b ok.
