Just ordered this stuff.

Says it'll do 25 litres at 14% in 2 days or 20% in 5 days (with more sugar)...all for 4 quid delivered!

Anyones used it before?

This will be my first attempt at home brew but seems a good if it does what it says.

Yep, was tempted to do beer but was worried about the taste aspect...extra strength alchopops seemed a safer bet! ;)

TBH it'll prboably still be rough as **** but a bit of fun and cheaper than tescos!

Mate used to make home made wine from apples and stuff, was great when we were 16, dunno what it would taste like now tho

lol

Been doing a bit of reading on the subject and seems it really needs to be heated contunuously so i've bought a 33litre still off ebay, complete with immersion heater!

With this baby I can apparently do up to 50%!

We always used to just stick it in the airing cupboard

Yep thats what i was going to do.

With this equipment it appparently distill it properly so the impurities will be taken out and do it quicker...says about 750ml per day of 25% or so, more if i stick it in a cold garage or something.

Should be fun...

mate of mine makes his own wine, cider and mead.

He currently has 100 pints of cider brewing in his second bathroon (actually think its ready to be bottled now) and it should be pretty good.

The last cider he made was quite nice, tasted different to the normal stuff but wasnt horrible in the slightest

havent a clue how its done tho

Another 3 days and i can start the distillation process!

Needs moved out to the garage tho as the gf is complaining about the alcohol fumes!

Well i haven't gone blind! :)

Kicked the distilation process off on thursday night and got a full bottle out of it on saturday morning. Added some whiskey essence and had a few...its drinkable but not something you'd be ordering in a bar due to its oder! 42% tho according to my meter which is good stuff.

Went out this morning and managed to siphon out another bottles worth. I've high hopes for this one as i've added some lemon vodka flavouring. It smells far nicer anyway...kinda a cross between bacardi and lime and something else.

Going to leave it running the whole of this week so should get upwards of 5 bottles by the end of the week. Then there another 10 litres of distilate to use so say another 5 bottle i reckon!

Any ideas for other falvourings? You can get just about anything to copy branded stuff...
