A plumbing emergency! Do they make a single-ended (open-jaw) 34mm non-adjustable wrench?
I can easily buy a combination wrench like this:

But it's very small space under the water cistern, so need a short handle and small non-adjustable head. I have already tried with an adjustable wrench but the jaw's threaded end sticks out too much.
Any advise?
well i havent seen them? but i do have a 52mm spanner which is used for pump valve nuts..
found this on e bay

lol were a set of nosey gits :D :D
Thanks, Fatboy. If a professional plumber like you have not seen one before, I would probably think this short handle wrench does not exist. So my other option, as big hp said, would be to cut myself one from a combo wrench. Hope the guys at the welders don't laugh too loudly at my request. :)
or another option would be to buy a pair of footprint spanners.

obviously they are adjustable
Nope, am afraid that won't fit. It's the big nut at the top of the supply pipe that holds the water-level control thingie in place.

I can only access the nut from 1 side of the cistern. With only about 1 inch of free space on each of the 3 blocked sides. The plumbers must have installed the water-level thingie before mounting the cistern onto the wall. It's a $10 replacement job, if I can just get at the nut. Will try the shortened wrench next week.
are you on about the big plastic nut at the base of the cistern???? where the flush pipe dissappears into??? or the nut that holds the ballvalve in place where the copper pipe dissappears into....
Need to replace this part, so have to undo the plastic nut at the bottom of the thing that holds it to the water cistern.

ahhhhh good luck then! and remember dont overtighten the nut on the new one!!
Just got it sorted! Was out at the DIY shops again and found myself a replacement part that has wings on the plastic nut that allows hand tightening. So, I just tapped out the old nut with a hammer and cut it out. And fitted the new one, hand-tightened. Didn't even need the 34mm wrench. Thanks to Fatboy and all for the suggestions.
