believe it or not....YES!!!

i have been waiting a long time to say that lol

all i have to do is connect coolant pipework and fill with oils (gearbox and engine) and then its over to my electrician mate who is sorting my wiring

providing he is free on sat that is

i've still got loads to do on the rest of the car mind, but getting the engine running will be a big step

still left to do on the rest of the car:
fit rear brake bias valve
fit new rear pads
secure brake pipes with rubber lined p clips
get some new caliper bolts
fit subframes and seats
buy and fit harnesses
buy and fit steering wheel, and boss
buy and fit stuff for brake cooling ducts
buy and fit cage
fit carbon door and qtr cards
get some rust repairs done, sills and qtrs could do with some attention
get wheels sprayed white
buy tyres
get it MOT'd
cambelt change to be safe

and i think thats it

Didnt you do the cambelt while the engine was out??

no, didnt have the tools to do it myself and isnt something i'd be confident in doing

a garage offered to do it while it was out of the car, but it meant getting a trailer, driving it 40 miles there, then trailer it back, too much hassle at the time!

will just have to fork out for it doing while its in

I hope theres a lot of room down there!! lol those 172 motors aint bad, but you do need the kit to do them right because the cam and bottom pulley's are floating, dont need to undo the top pulleys though, when you undo the bottom pulley bolt the timing slips out, kit locks everything beforehand
