how does it come away from the master cylinder?

screws, nuts, just pull it?

2 of the brake pipe unions are a nightmare to get a spanner onto, would be much easier with it removed :roll:

i gave it a wee tug ( :roll: ) but didnt budge

not normally mate.... :? but you can never tell. i tend to lever mine out with a large screwdriver

it was a joke mate :oops: there sat tight in the seals and need a little persuasion to get off.
your comment about leverage had me filled with a vision of a wrecking bar or scaffold tube.. :D

if you bugger it up mate, the seals and even a new reservoir are pretty cheap IIRC
