Important brake question! URGENT!

Hi guys,

my brother has an old shape 1.4 vauxhall corsa and I am rather worried that there is a loud hissing noise coming from the brake pedal area..

when you step on the brake pedal,, the noise stops until you take your foot off..

could this potentially be dangerous? the brakes seem unaffected but still! he is driving the car around and I don't want him getting hurt!

As a test, when it's stopped and in neutral and the engine is running, apply pressure to the brake pedal by standing on it harder than you would usually - it shouldn't move but if it slowly drops to the floor then there be a leak or another problem somewhere!

Brake servo i'd get it replaced mate...Its below the brake fluid reservoir....wonder if it's bolted from behind the dash :shock:
