Ever since i got my engine back in from a head gasket change my power steering pumps been leaking. So i get a new o-ring like the haynes manual said. It still leaks, so i get a slightly thicker o-ring which appeared to have cured the problem but as soon as i actually turned the wheels it started leaking! I've cleaned the seat and check for any cracks etc but it still leaks! Whenever i take it off bits of thin rubber has shaven off if you get my drift? :P

How tight should it be? As tight as it'll go? Or not to tight?

Bump, just wondering what everyone elses pipe looks like.

The seat is fine and so is the pipe as far as i can tell but i cant see...

But is this how yours is? Im just wondering if my o-ring is slipping onto the outer instead of staying on the raised part of the pipe..

Change the O-ring - and dont over tighten.
The O-ring deforms with time, and over tightening.
