View Full Version : Front door trim.
I need to replace the driver door solenoid. Obviously I have to remove all the trim/door card stuff and a bit of the interior mirror cover.
I have got it all off except for the card itself. It won't budge at all. It is stuck fast. There are hidden plastic screws behind it, and I don't have one of those fancy fork screwdrivers to piss about with, and I don't know how many or where the bloody hidden plastic screws are. I'd give it a yank but I don't know if I will break something...
It's freezing cold, and I don't want to be sat in the street doing this all night! HEEEEELP PLS!!

isnt it stuck on with that black goo shite?
Loads of it yes, but it WILL NOT budge at all. I don't wantto damage anything.
think it just a case of prising it off. they can be a bitch though

get a sturdy but relatively thin kitchen knife and work your way around, you will soon see if it has any screws you have missed.
Ok. Thanks. Don't think anyone has ever been behind here before! Looks untouched, and the door sticky stuff is bloody all over the place!

prob a bit too much stella on the assembly line haha
Ok, well kitchen knifing now. Cracked the ****ing piece of shit in three places already and it still wont budge.
I read on a couple of threads: Yea, unscrew some shit and pull it off...
The above statement is bollocks. It's easier to buy a new fuking door.

haha renaults mate... what do you expect? good news is that there are plenty of door cards on ebay 8)
Yea...*sigh* I know. It's one of those jobs I am finding very frustrating!
Remove speaker, both handles, and door pocket and then just pull, start from a bottom corner and then when you've unstuck all teh sticky stuff lift up to wedge it outa the window seal. There are a series of white plastic clips around the door, but these just pull out
Yay, I managed to take it off but it didn't come off without a fight.
I am having a break and warming up, having taken out the door solenoid (not easy with rounded off torx screws!). Now, warm up and get back out there for the final leg of putting new one in...god it's cold!
Fitted new solenoid, result: Central locking working as intended.
Finally.
