View Full Version : Stiff gas pedal!
Hi guys, I have a new throttle cable fitted recently and the pedal doesnt feel as light as it should has a bit of resistance to it!
almost seems like I will snap the clip on the back of the pedal if i push too hard!
any ideas?
cable routing?!
ai, most likely routing mate, check it over thoroughly for kinks and tight turns etc
As above almost 99% cable routing

when i replaced mine, i couldnt have it on its original clips as it made it too stiff, instead i re-routed it with a gradual smooth bend and it was fine
Genuine Cable?? i found pattern ones melt....
Dave
so . what would the correct route be?!

When I did mine the cable went through the bulkhead, round behind the master cylinder where clips are are available to hold it and in between the brake pipes then behind the manifold heat shield and up and round the bay into the throttle body. IIRC

yeah, i think theres a clip which makes it go infront of the expansion tank and this is where it cause problems as it made the curve really sharp into the throttle body, i simply smooth it out by routing it under the expansion tank and moved the retaining clip, worked much better. But to be honest, i think the accellerator is stiff anyway on the williams due to the nature of its routing.
