Just thought I would post a pic of my new beast that I am getting in Feb.

Its a 94' Toyota Celica gt-four WRC edition so its a Homologation special like the Williams.

I still dont know what I am doing with my poorly hybrid but I am not going to break her thats for sure. I may keep it for track but if the new car costs too much to run I will fix it and sell it on..... it has been with me for TEN years so it is time I suppose!

 From experience a 185bhp hybrid is quicker 30-110mph but they are a nice standard toy for sure. Enjoy the grip!

Ya but turbo cars like this are so easy to tune.

I've driven the 2.0 GT version and it's fairly swift but the extra weight makes its 150bhp not particularly exciting.

Steering feel is a bit lacking I found :( but a great cruiser at 1.10 leptons ;) and they don't rattle! LoL

I can't get comfy though - I'm too tall for them so can't sit up as straight as I like without ruining my hair! LOL

Will look forward to you getting it tuned 8)

I have heard about the steering feel but we shall see. All the people that I know that own them utterly love the drive, I have driven a 185 version and really liked it but found it too slow and my hybrid was more raw.
It is so much easier to put the power down in these things, my friends one with the same spec as mine wipes out pretty much everything, albeit with a trick clutch.
With regard to the tuning, mine has a downpipe, boost controller and a dump valve and gets circa 300bhp with these mods alone making it a definite sub 5 seconds 0-60 car. Evo magazine has the standard uk model with 239bhp listed as 0-60 in 5.2 seconds......[/quote]

My mate at work has one- they did two power versions- his being the 255bhp one and it goes fairly well.

In fact he was with me last time i went to pod he ran against jay and it was pretty much even all the way, ran a low 14 iirc- Not bad for a fully loaded heavy car with aircon comforts! Cant decide whether i like the shape of them or not- think i prefer the 96 facelift bumper and lower than standard

Yeah although the transmission may cost a bomb :x

With regards to styling I find these cars really grow on you, I intend to keep mine standard-ish looking for a bit but when I start messing about with it I am going to stick with the Rally theme.

I really like this one.

Imagine no more......

I was thinking of getting these as they do look great but I think that the compomotive MO six spokes have more of a rally history and look. (I would have them in white of course) although the ones on the blue car are 18's and are too big I think and will mess up the handling.

Here's another cool pic of my car as it is now.

I think it is indeed the flaps and the wheels that put me off - the pro's look much much better...

HATE FLAPS!!!

ALL flaps? :flag:

You cant COMPARE a GT to a GT-four. Its like comparing an RT to a williams!

What you guys think of the pro race 1.2's in anthracite? Better then white or not? This is the same car as above and the guy had them changed to this.

Also here is a pic of the newer compomotive mo's in white but I would get the 17's and not the 18 inch monsters on this one.

was on about the look of the thing mate, looked exactly same as that, massive wing on it, wide ass bumper etc etc, maybe was a GT-4 then , wasnt close enuf read back of it, do they say GT 4 on em? it wasnt a WRC either way maybe just normal gt-4

know **** all about toyota's, if jap and not a skyline i have no idea! :P

Hulio
14-12-2007, 23:31
Yeah, they should say GT-four on the back and on the side of the riser blocks on the rear spoiler.
Looks-wise the front has a lot more vents and grills on it. I actually don't like the other versions the same way that I only like Clio's if they are a valver or a williams. The other versions just look wrong or naked in some way to me.

I especially like it when they have big red dangly dirty flaps like my new bit on the side has. :droool:

superb cars, you can get crazy power and with the 4x4 grip lots of protection too... will defo have one of these to play with... either this or a pulsar lol

Hulio
15-12-2007, 16:38
Yeah, pulsars are mega quick but ugly and lots have been abused. Gt4's are stupid cheap at the moment and mine is from a well known guy on the gt4oc forum so it has a history. Also the club is very helpful and I am very impressed with it so far.

This one is running around 600bhp... Bloke who owned it is a friend on my g/f. He worked for a tuning company in plymouth. Wee beast

Hulio

Wild. That must fly. There is so much potential for tuning on these cars its unreal. Styling wise I like the colour but its all a bit too wacky for me. I'm into the standard look with Motorsport inspired mods nowadays.

Some came with the smaller spoiler as well which i think can look good with subtle trd styling bits.

The wrc has the high wing as standard so think I will leave it!
