 fun little run around and costs half the amount of the valliams to run in petrol, the thing runs on fumes! Awsome bit of 80's kit! Despite the talk that mini handling is brutal, even with road legal slicks on this one, it isnt up to the level of the hybrid

Hey lads....Agree totally Andy P...I picked this mini up for a bargain I really did. Its a lad that uses my garage for work and MOT...He use to work at my garage and 3years ago he had it on axel stands as a bare shell and rebuilt the whole thing for his girlfriend...Engine was rebuilt, along with gearbox, interior and reprayed exterior. They split up, I get car  Needs a small amount of work for a new MOT but it still has 4months MOT and 4months Tax so ill do that in feb or so.

I have 4 Renault Clio F7P engines lieing about the garage, 2 of which work perfectly and I have thought about trying to convert it but it's a shame removing this engine as its sweet.

Disappointing news on what is under the hood though maxiboy....I wish it -was a GT lump or something but its just a little 998cc leaf blower  Then again, I got it as a run about so can't complain...

Modifications;
-Stage 1 Tuning kit, different inlet manifold, larger needle, K&N panel filter, stainless steel exhaust
-Koni Shocks all round
-Alloy Short Shifter
-Worlds smallest steering wheel
-Updated dash
-Yoko Advan tyres
-Leather seats with white pipeing

Here are a few more pictures...Sorry, I didn't have any time to clean the car so it looks abit dirty and the interior is a state!

Rather worrying stains on the backseat there! lol nice! love my mini's if only they werent so small! i have a friend who has a rally mini, metro gta front subframe etc, 196bhp k-series motor, and i think it weigh's about 600kg, goes well 8)
He says it handles ok but not up to scratch compared to a modern hatch with decent suspension, mini's have ruled the bends but now clio's do! lol

lol..i had a 10" steering wheel on mine. coupled to the quick rack, 6x10s, adj rides , Spax, and solid mounts...steering was quite heavy......but so precise. and also had the obligatory column drop on it too.

go kart??? lol

LOL thats mad. I have trouble smoking when im driving in this thing as the steering it so stiff, smoke in the eye is deadly especially in a car with no servo assisted brakes and front brakes that should only be used at the rear on a micra!

Cant wait to get mine all souped up! always wanted one since a kid, going to get a flipfront next week hopefully and then think about what engine....
Looked at 1600 v-tec's but i think you have to convert them to lhd! so might keep with the a-series maybe k-series....

Still no way im getting rid of my hybrid! well not yet anyway! lol

lol@ brakes.

they dire at best of times. my last one was fortunately servo assisted. not originally, but from 87ish iirc they were as std, with the 8.4 discs, mine had the discs not the servo...soo...scrappy visit n a few hours later, hey presto...PAS. lol.

and trust me mate. the f7 eng/box will fit. the hubs are just about flush with the doors, width ways, shortened shafts slightly and itl fit under std ish track ;) legnthways, i think youd have to extend the wings slightly. no biggy if ur going the f/g flipfront route ;)

or as you say, go k series. loadsa vtecs/red top conversions so there will be loads of advice around for you if you choose this. z cars do the r1/hyabusa etc conversions, but they aint cheap lol.

failing that...fire an mg 1300 in, slight rebore, decent cam,i was looking for an arden 8 port head for mine for years, until jack knight came up with one.....expensive tho...or u could do the old BMW bike head conversion thats been knocking around a while....to many options when it comes to under the bonnet lol.

i miss mine.........lots
