View Full Version : Very occassional problem with engine misfire
I have heard of this before but can't remember the diagnosis. It only happens rarely on part throttle, but the car splutters when I turn left on a bend.
What is it likely to be again?
I am redline on the fuel so it could be that, but it did it once before on a good amount of fuel too.
check fuel pump, im sure northy had this problem on his cup car
eye i have this problem on mine - i believe its casued by fuel serge in the standard tank. for me it starts when i get around the last 1/4 of fuel.
I have a new pump but ive not fitted it yet. I aslo run no reserve tank so its even worse for me
dont run it so low, problem solved lol
you shouldnt run it to the bottom anyway it drags all the crap through especially on cars as old as ours
Well, it's nicely filled up now :D
Could have also been partly due to oil contaminating the spark plugs where it looks like someone has spilt oil into the plugs area, soaking two plugs.
On my old RSi if i ran it low on fuel it was ok till i filled it up, and all the crap got stired up, wouldn't start for a good hour - 2 hours afterwards, wasn't always straight away either, sometimes took a while and it it would just die
Bah! Sod that, thats why we have fuel filters!
