Hi all, since the end of september I am the proud owner of a Clio 16v. The car has quite a lot of milage, 125000 but it`s working as it should, I think. :) The car had a slight buble on a right rear arch, but this was repaired by my friend and me one week after I`ve got the car.

Here is some pictures. :)

This is when I`ve got it:

Last week I`ve decided to change the cambelt (and everything that goes with it), thermostat, waterpump and microbelt. All together with work costed me 200pounds (work was 60 pounds, material was around 140). My friend changed it for me, I was at work at that time hence only a few pictures.

No worries mate!

Your car looks a dream. Im a big fan of phase I black 16v's.

For some reason, phase 2 black's look very girly.

Phase I's look hardcore.

Foreign number plates look so interesting too. Original british ones from the factory look ****ing shite!!

There and again Britain is generally shite!! lol!

looking good there lad.

What does it drove like with the spacers?

Any different?

Duli
29-12-2007, 01:54
To be honest the roads all wet all the time so I can`t tell you if there is any difference. On normal driving there isn`t. Also I don`t expect any difference anyway I just hope that the rear will be at least as stable as before. In that case I will keep the spacers, but if the rear becomes more unpredictable then I will remove them. But as I`ve said I don`t think there is and will be any difference it just looks better.

1995clio16v
29-12-2007, 13:22
it just looks better.

Yes, possibly.

Thats the thing with a 16v with the wider arches and bumper on the rear, when you're behind and looking they always look a bit 'skinny' maybe this will change the looks slightly! Hopefully!

Are there many clio 16v's in Slovenia?

Duli
29-12-2007, 13:58
Nah, not much, at least not in fine condition. On the net only 3 or 4 are selling atm in the entire country. Two are ****ed and one is a real joke. There are probably less then 10 Williamses here, I only know of one (which is in rebuilt phase atm).

1995clio16v asked for pictures in the other thread of my "new" white valver.

I had to reshell the black one due to not being carfull and paying attention to the road that`s why I went of the road downhill about 50m and rolled the car about 7 times on my way to the bottom. I wasn`t hurt because I was traveling at a slow speed before I went off the road, othewise it could have been much different if I would make a jump before rolling due to the higher speed. Immediatly I`ve decided that I will reshell my car. Well, here was the problem, there was no shells in our country. So I went to Italy, hoping that I will find one there. I didn`t. But then luckily a friend of mine found one shell, white one.

Here was the "new" shell when we went to pick it up:

And all the work at my friends house. There is a lot of pictures, thats why I am putting the link to my album.

before polishing:

after polishing:

The car has that shine that it used to have when it was new, so I am happy with the result. We put a lot of work into it and still some work will have to be made because there is still some small problems with the car. :)

The car will be repainted this autumn, also all the rust on the arches will obviously be repaired at that time because one arch is quite bubled.

Nice! :)

Personally I would have left the bootstrip in its original colour so there's not too much white, but that's entirely my personal opinion! :)

Duli

The bootstrip is in its original colour, I`ve forgot to put up the pictures. At the moment I have the ph2 lights on, but will change them again for ph1. ;) I`ve also painted the scuttel panel, and the rear spoiler into their original colour. Here are the pictures:

Duli your black valver was the most beautiful valver in Slovenia (in my opinion). But as I saw the car when you bought it and now when I'm looking at pictures I've got to say you are a wizzard man! I should give you my Williams so you can polish it a bit. Then it might finally look like a car should. :)
