How come the caps don't fit if they're replicas?

there will be design limitations through patents etc. so something will have to be slightly diff. this seems to be it.

Tis a shame - And I'm glad I know that now actually!

well i got a set of 4 the other week. i gave 1 a rite good sanding and polished it up, looked really well, but.....a couple of the others are a bit mashed. some fool has left a rear disc on one instead of whipping the locking wheelnut off and taking chunks out the wheel trying to hammer summat.....

so decided to paint em silver lol. shud look alrite on the mrs' valver. did contemplate white...but not on a black car lol

haha.. well theres a place near me that media blasts wheels and powder coats them for £25 per wheel, so think after winter i will get them blasted, high build primed and then get the original gold paint and polish the rim... quite enjoy refurbing wheels to be fair! lol

Primas.... they are the future, forget your overpriced original shite haha

centre cap differences are... renault caps are domed and primas are concaved? am i right?

no mate. the hole in the ctr of the prima rim is diff. the oe ctr caps will fit in the wheel from the back, but they wont go far enough forward to fit flush. the lip on the hub/disc wouldnt go inside the wheel with the oe cap fitted. and its too loose to fit in the recess on the outside.

but other than that, yeah....the primas are flat, oe domed ctr caps.

haha - given mine a good clean and they look great, to be perfectly honest, unless you have a concorse mint williams, does it really matter if the centre caps are different? id be more concerned about the rust on the arches, sills, engine bay, panel dents lol

Daz.

^^ nope the caps would be more important than that lot

no mate. the hole in the bread van of the prima rim is diff. the oe bread van caps will fit in the wheel from the back, but they wont go far enough forward to fit flush. the lip on the hub/disc wouldnt go inside the wheel with the oe cap fitted. and its too loose to fit in the recess on the outside.

but other than that, yeah....the primas are flat, oe domed bread van caps.

Here is a pic of my hybrid, proudly sporting a set of prima willy reps, that have been embellished with a set of genuine renault center caps that seem to fit rather well indeed and have done for the past ten years!

By the way, the only difference between them should be that the prima one's lack the extra ridge that runs around the edge of the spokes, a tiny difference visually. They are also one kilogram heavier per wheel.

The gold is also a slight shade lighter but as you can see from the pic, the center cap does not look drastically different.

Prima wheels have 2 centre cap designs that i've seen.

The first ones i had were complete flat (bit like RSI caps if you get me) whereas the second ones were kind of domed/elevated outwards with a flat top (bit like a coffee jar cap if you get me).
