How easy? What tools do i need?
Should i replace top mounts at same time? If so how much are new top mounts?
Easy-ish
I got new top mounts... £20 aside for the full top mount kit from reno
easy as fook mate! i didnt even use a spring compressor for mine! i just pressed down on them and tightened the nut! no need for new topmpunts imo

What are bump stops?
stop the spring grinding on itself under full compression.
how did you get away with not usin a spring compressor?!
easy! hold the leg between my ankles push down with one hand and undo/ re-do with the other!
all because i couldn't be arsed to go to the shed and get the spring compressors out!
lol i'd not recommend doing it without spring compressors... i dont know how much energy is in a spring when its just on the strut but under compression it would take your head off if something went wrong.
but i'm hardcore and it made the job more exciting!
