Im very tempted at it but...

If i get it id be stumped as to what shell i could hide it in, a valver would be nice but then id only want it to be my old williams...

Also like hell ill ever get insured on a valver!

Could try and squeeze it into a 106 rally... ill just about get insured on a 1.3 and my guess is it will go feck loads better than a TU5 lump! :P

hmmmmm......hows it gunna fit tho

What's a reasonable ballpark price to get a used Williams engine and gearbox? And get someone like Northy to do a full rebuild (standard specs)? Minus the shipping price, frieght frowarder friend of mine can arrange that. Northy?

PS: Are the engine number plates "swappable" on these engines?

Ah, that clear things up. Anyone running his own workshop? Was thinking of getting a rebuilt engine once mine hits 250k (km). Still many moons away but just want to know the budget to set aside.

Don't really want to rebuild the current one as:- 1) No one has done it here 2)Will have to down the car for months, waiting for parts 3) I don't think it will be much cheaper than shipping one in, and 4) I get a spare engine to play with at the end of it all.

Appreciate some rough ballpark numbers for parts and labour. TIA.

using the megane engine instead of the willy .for engine, complete refurb, cams, pullies, gearbox re-con, re-map of ecu to suit, uprated clutch etc....£2500...including buying the engine, and new pumps etc

Enid

Do you know if anyone has done it?? 3.5k seems a bit steep?

KingStromba

Will0329 had a brand new lump in his car, now on 45,000.

A rebuild will never be as good as a new engine unless it is very thorough.

depends mate.........on the state of the engine pre rebuild etc etc etc etc etc
